04781 Vought F4U-1A Corsair (1:32 Scale) Model Kit

04781 Vought F4U-1A Corsair (1:32 Scale) Model Kit

The Vought Corsair was one of the most unusual but also most successful Navy aircraft of World War II. Feared by the Japanese enemy who gave her the nickname Whispering Death, she fought her way through the Pacific skies from 1943 to 1945 and achieved record-breaking successes: 2,140 enemy aircraft were destroyed and 189 of her own losses. The Corsair's concentrated firepower consisted of six 12.7 mm Browning MGs. Its characteristically bent wings made it highly recognizable to the ground troops, who called it the Sweetheart of Okinawa. The F4U-1A was the first batch with major changes, maximum speed 671km/h.
